Floating Hexy Box

This cute fabric box is perfect for holding all sorts of goodies, from reels of thread or buttons, to naughty little chocolate treats to have on hand on a sewing day.

Featuring a nifty hexy technique created by Nicole of Modern Handcraft, this is a lovely skill to try out.

Pattern Correction

I am really sorry about this, but as the very lovely and wonderful Debby pointed out, there is an error in the cutting instructions for the base of both the outer box and the lining. Once you have quilted the 8" square for the base, trim this down to a 7.25" square (not 6.75" as written) so it will fit into the bottom of the outer tube, see page 8 below. 
Then for the lining, do the same, cut a 7.25" square to fit into the lining tube.
