Wonky Squares Wall Hanging Pattern

Create you own piece of modern art using 'nearly improv' cutting to make these fun wonky squares blocks. You could go for a bright and cheerful rainbow look, or what about a modern monochrome effect with a splash of colour?

This pattern is based on 2.5" fabric strips, so great for raiding the stash or using up those left over jelly roll strips.

Skill level: Skilled Beginner

Finished size: approx. 25" square

You will need:
• One 2.5" x WOF (width of fabric 42") strip in sixteen co-ordinating colours - I went for a rainbow effect, but your could have 16 tones/patterns of the same colour, or if you prefer the modern monotone look, you will need three strips of thre colours, plus one for your centre squares (I also used this for the binding).

• 35cm solid white (or similar neutral blender)

• 50cm freezer paper

• 20cm of binding fabric 

• 28" square wadding and backing fabric

• Thread for piecing and for quilting.
